Strautomator is free to use for core features, with a PRO plan that unlocks advanced functionality. This page answers common questions about what each plan includes, how billing works, and what happens if you change plans.
The free plan gives you access to the core features of Strautomator at no cost:
  • Up to 2–3 automations
  • Up to 2 GearWear component tracking configurations
  • 30-day automation history
  • Calendar export with 90-day history and 5-day future view
  • Personal records for Ride and Run activities
The free plan is a great starting point for athletes who want to automate a few common tasks. If you need more automations, longer history, or advanced features, PRO is the upgrade path.
PRO unlocks the full feature set of Strautomator:
  • Unlimited automations (up to 999)
  • AI content actions — generate activity names and descriptions with ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and more
  • Garmin and Wahoo integration — pull FIT file data (sensor battery, training load, workout notes) into automations
  • Outbound webhooks — send activity data to external services whenever an automation fires
  • FTP auto-update — automatically push estimated FTP values back to Strava
  • All-sports personal records — track records across every sport type, not just Ride and Run
  • 10-year activity history for Batch Sync
  • Extended calendar — longer history window and more future days
  • Weather provider choice — select your preferred weather data source
  • Battery tracker for Garmin/Wahoo sensors
  • No Strautomator backlinks in activity descriptions

Pricing changes periodically. Visit strautomator.com/billing for the current prices. Strautomator offers three ways to subscribe to PRO:
  • Yearly subscription — billed annually via Paddle; auto-renews each year
  • Lifetime plan — a one-time payment for permanent PRO access with no recurring charges
  • GitHub Sponsors — a monthly sponsorship of the Strautomator project on GitHub that activates PRO for your account
The lifetime plan is a one-time payment that grants you permanent PRO access. There are no recurring subscription charges — you pay once and PRO features are enabled on your account indefinitely. This is the most cost-effective option if you plan to use Strautomator long-term and prefer not to manage an annual subscription. The lifetime plan is processed through Paddle, the same payment provider used for the yearly subscription.
Yes. If you sponsor the Strautomator project on GitHub at the qualifying tier, PRO is activated on your Strautomator account automatically. This is a monthly sponsorship billed through GitHub’s Sponsors program. To link your GitHub Sponsors subscription to your Strautomator account, go to Account → Billing and follow the GitHub Sponsors connection flow.
To cancel a yearly Paddle subscription:
1

Open Account Settings

Go to Account → Billing in Strautomator.
2

Cancel Subscription

Click Cancel Subscription and confirm the cancellation.
Your PRO access continues until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the free plan. Your automations and data are preserved — only the free plan limits apply after the period ends.To cancel a GitHub Sponsors subscription, manage it directly through your GitHub account settings.
Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you’ve been charged and believe a refund is warranted, contact support through the chat widget on the Help page. Include your account email and the reason for your request, and the team will review it.
Your automations are preserved when you downgrade — they are not deleted. However, only the first 2–3 automations in your list will run after the downgrade; any beyond that limit are disabled. The disabled automations remain in your account and can be re-enabled if you re-subscribe to PRO at any time. To make the most of the active slots on the free plan, reorder your automations (by dragging them on the Automations page) so the most important ones are at the top.
Strautomator migrated its billing system from PayPal to Paddle. If you were a PayPal subscriber, you can move to the new system through a guided migration flow:

There is no dedicated student plan or discount tier at this time. The free plan is available to everyone with no time limit, and it covers the core automation features. If cost is a barrier, the GitHub Sponsors monthly option offers a lower barrier to entry than an annual plan — check current tiers at strautomator.com/billing.
