Closing your Strautomator account permanently deletes all the data the platform holds about you. This is a deliberate, irreversible action — take a moment to review what happens before you proceed.
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once you confirm, all your automations, GearWear configurations, activity history, personal records, and preferences are erased immediately and cannot be recovered. Your Strava activities are not affected.

What Gets Deleted

When you close your account, the following data is permanently and irreversibly removed from Strautomator: Your Strava account and all your activities, routes, and segments remain completely untouched. Strautomator never stores the activity content itself — only the metadata needed to process automations.

Before You Close Your Account

Complete these steps before initiating deletion to avoid unexpected charges or orphaned access:
1

Cancel any active subscription

If you have an active PRO subscription via Paddle or GitHub Sponsors, cancel it first. Closing your Strautomator account does not automatically cancel an external subscription — you could continue to be charged even after your account no longer exists. See the Billing guide for cancellation instructions.
2

Download your data (optional)

If you want a copy of your automations, GearWear configs, or history for your own records, download your data before closing. Visit Account → Download My Data — see the Data Export guide for details. Once the account is deleted, this data cannot be retrieved.

How to Close Your Account

1

Go to your Account page

Log in to Strautomator and navigate to your Account page.
2

Click Close My Account

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Close My Account.
3

Confirm deletion

A confirmation dialog appears, summarising what will be deleted. Read it carefully, then click Confirm to proceed. The deletion begins immediately.
4

You are logged out

Once deletion completes, you are automatically logged out and your session is ended. You will see a confirmation message that your account has been closed.

Revoking Strautomator’s Strava Access

After closing your account, Strautomator’s OAuth connection to Strava still exists unless you explicitly revoke it. Revoke access to ensure Strautomator can no longer read or receive webhook events from your Strava account:
1

Open Strava Settings

Log in to Strava and go to Settings → My Apps (or visit strava.com/settings/apps directly).
2

Find Strautomator

Locate Strautomator in the list of connected applications.
3

Revoke Access

Click Revoke Access next to Strautomator. The connection is removed immediately.

Re-joining Strautomator

You are always welcome to come back. If you re-connect Strautomator to Strava in the future, a fresh account is created automatically — just like the first time you signed up. Previous data, automations, and configurations are not recoverable, so you will start from scratch.
If you were on a Paddle Lifetime plan, contact support before re-joining — the team may be able to assist with reinstating your PRO access on your new account.
