How GearWear works
When you complete an activity on Strava, Strautomator receives a webhook event and processes it automatically. As part of that processing, Strautomator identifies which bike or shoes you used and credits their distance (and moving time) to every component in that gear’s configuration.Gear tracking happens with a configurable delay (default: 2 days) so you have time to correct the gear assignment on a recent activity before the totals are locked in. PRO members can reduce this delay to as little as 1 day, and gear tracking also updates instantly for activities whose gear was changed by an automation. Adjust the delay in Account → Preferences → GearWear delay.
Getting started
Your bikes and shoes are imported automatically from Strava. Navigate to the Gear page to see all your equipment. Items without a GearWear configuration appear at the bottom of the list — click the + button next to a bike or shoe to create a new configuration and begin adding components.GearWear only tracks gear registered on Strava. If a bike or shoe is missing, visit Strava Gear Settings to add it, then refresh the Gear page.
Plan limits
If you downgrade from PRO to Free, configurations beyond the Free limit are disabled automatically. Upgrade back to PRO to re-enable them without losing any history.
