The Recent Activities page is your main tool for testing automations and diagnosing unexpected behavior. For every activity in the list you can inspect exactly what data Strautomator received from Strava, and you can re-run your automations on demand without waiting for a new real-world activity.

Recent Activities page

Navigate to Activities → Recent Activities to see your most recent Strava activities. Each row shows the activity name, date, distance, and duration. Two action buttons appear on each row:

Debug

Opens a detailed view of every property Strautomator received from Strava for that activity — exact numeric values, GPS coordinates, device name, flags, and more. Use this to understand precisely what values your automation conditions are evaluating.

Process

Manually triggers all applicable automations to run against that activity right now. Use this to test a new or edited automation without waiting for a new activity to sync from Strava.

Debugging a specific activity

You don’t need to scroll through the list to find a particular activity. At the bottom of the Recent Activities table, paste any Strava activity URL or ID into the input field, then click Debug or Process to act on it directly.
1

Find the activity ID

Open the activity on Strava. The ID is the number in the URL: strava.com/activities/12345678901.
2

Paste it into Strautomator

On the Recent Activities page, paste the URL or just the numeric ID into the ID or URL field at the bottom of the table.
3

Debug or Process

Click Debug to inspect the raw activity data, or Process to run your automations against it.

Understanding the debug view

The debug view displays all activity properties as key–value pairs. Useful fields to check when troubleshooting automation conditions include: If Garmin or Wahoo metadata is available (PRO integration), it appears in separate sections below the main activity data.

Batch sync: process many activities at once

To retroactively apply your current automations to a large number of historical activities, use batch processing instead of processing them one by one. From the Recent Activities page, click Proceed to batch processing, or navigate directly to Activities → Batch Sync. Batch sync lets you define a date range and run all matching automations across your full history.
Batch sync updates your activities on Strava. If your automations rename activities or change descriptions, those changes will be applied to every matching historical activity. Review your automation rules carefully before running a large batch.

FIT file upload (PRO)

If you use Garmin or Wahoo devices and recently connected them to Strautomator, you can backfill older activities with sensor data (device ID, battery level, sensor readings) that Strava doesn’t expose through its API.
1

Export your FIT files

Export FIT files from Garmin Connect or the Wahoo app, then compress them all into a single ZIP archive. Up to the platform limit of files per archive is supported.
2

Upload the archive

Navigate to Activities → FIT Upload. Select your ZIP file and click Upload and process.
3

Wait for processing

Strautomator extracts and processes each FIT file individually, matching it to the corresponding Strava activity by date and start time. A progress bar tracks the upload. Larger archives take longer.
4

Review results

Once complete, Strautomator shows a summary of processed and failed files. Matched activities are enriched with the FIT sensor data, making them available for automations that use Garmin- or Wahoo-specific conditions.
FIT file upload is a PRO feature. Parsed FIT data is stored temporarily and automatically deleted after a few days. The feature supports Garmin and Wahoo FIT formats only.
