Where to Find Notifications
A bell icon in the top navigation bar shows your current unread notification count. Click the bell (or navigate to Account → Notifications) to open the Notifications page. The Notifications page displays two sections:- Unread — new notifications you have not yet seen, listed in reverse chronological order.
- Read — notifications you have already viewed, kept for reference.
Types of Notifications
GearWear Alerts
Receive a pre-alert when a component is approaching its configured distance or time threshold, and a threshold alert when it reaches or exceeds it. These remind you to inspect or replace components like chains, tyres, and brake pads before they become a safety issue.
Failed Automations
If an automation (recipe) fails to run repeatedly — for example, because Strava rejects a field value — Strautomator sends a notification so you can review and fix the automation before it causes further issues.
FTP Auto-Update
When the FTP auto-update feature (PRO) updates your Functional Threshold Power value in Strava, you receive a notification showing the old and new FTP values so you can review the change.
Personal Records
Each time Strautomator detects a new personal record in one of your activities, a notification lists the record type and the activity it came from. Free accounts track Ride and Run PRs; PRO accounts track all supported sport types.
System Announcements
Strautomator occasionally sends announcements about new features, planned maintenance, or important changes to the service. These appear in your notification feed so you do not miss anything significant.
Auth Error Alerts
If Strautomator loses its connection to your Strava account — for example, because your OAuth token expired or you revoked access — an alert notifies you immediately so you can re-authenticate and avoid missing activity processing.
Email Reminders
Strautomator monitors your unread notification count. If you accumulate a significant number of unread alerts without logging in to clear them, the system may send an email summary to the address registered on your account. This acts as a safety net so critical alerts (such as an auth error or a failed automation) do not go unnoticed.Email reminders are only sent to a confirmed email address. If you have not yet added or verified an email address, visit Account → Settings to do so.
